About Me
My name is Michael Whitford. I’m a former Systems Engineer in Phoenix Arizona, currently working for myself doing freelance. I work on all different types of servers, usually related to the internet, but not always. I’m an avid Linux user, and spend my free time helping people new to Linux figure things out. I decided to write about things I work with as a way to help other people who might run up against the same problems I am facing. I have 15 years of experience working with Linux and Unix, as well as Windows and Mac OS. Until recently I was an Apple fan, but not anymore.
This website is running on a Sun Cobalt Raq550 with a Pentium III 1 gig cpu. It has 768 megs of ram and two 40 gig hard drives installed. For an OS I have installed a modified linux kernel and the Debian distribution.
